CNN —Red Bull’s pioneering engineer and Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey is set to leave the outfit in the first quarter of 2025, the team announced in a statement on Wednesday. Prior to Red Bull, the 65-year-old enjoyed successful spells at Williams and McLaren. “For almost two decades, it has been my great honour to have played a key role in Red Bull Racing’s progress from upstart newcomer to multiple title-winning team,” Newey said in the statement released by Red Bull. Red Bull Racing's dominance in Formula 1 this year is translating directly to higher sales of its namesake energy drink, the team's principal and CEO, Christian Horner, told CNBC. The Red Bull team, which also counts tech giant Oracle as a title sponsor, has trounced the grid this season, winning 19 of the 20 Grand Prix weekends so far. The Red Bull team secured the constructors championship the weekend prior, in Japan. Red Bull declined to share specific sales metrics, but a company spokesperson reiterated the F1 "uplift" and said it's particularly noticeable in corresponding race markets. It's incredible the amount of consumption of Red Bull that is happening," Horner told CNBC.

MEXICO CITY, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Red Bull boss Christian Horner hailed the return of the Daniel Ricciardo of old on Sunday as the Australian raced to AlphaTauri's best result of the season at the Mexico City Grand Prix. "You couldn't fail to be impressed by Daniel this weekend," Horner told Sky Sports television. "I think fighting a Mercedes in an AlphaTauri for their best result of the year was a great performance. Ricciardo had qualified fourth on Saturday at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and told reporters that performance was no fluke. He could have had it today but it wasn't to be but great to see Daniel looking like his old self."

And while Perez has been part Red Bull's crushing constructor's championship, Verstappen is so dominant that he would have Red Bull in first place all by himself. Perez, with 'Never Give Up' prominent on a specially-designed helmet for the occasion, remains positive despite a run of poor form. Perez, a winner twice this year, has been off the podium in his previous four outings and beaten by Verstappen in the last 14. Verstappen has won four of the last five Mexican Grands Prix while Perez has been third in the last two. Denmark's Frederik Vesti will take George Russell's Mercedes and Britain's Oliver Bearman replaces Kevin Magnussen at Haas for FP1.
